How Would You Make the World More Civil?

In 2008, John Sweeney and the employees of the Brave New Workshop theatre wrote Return to Civility: A Speed of Laughter Project out of a desire to positively impact as many people as we mildly offend with our social and political satire. Whether in all seriousness or in laughter, we hope you will join us in helping to increase the civility of our world.

Unless a relative is dying, TURN OFF your cell phone when you are hanging out with a friend. How would you like it if you went over to a friends house, and they spent half the time on the phone with someone else.

What you choose to eat, impacts more than just your body.

Take for example this site (http://www.seafoodwatch.org) which helps you select seafood that is abundant, well-managed, and fished or farmed in environmentally friendly ways.

Be prepared to take your shoes off when you enter someone's home.

When you enter someones house, take the time to notice if the family who lives there is wearing their shoes in the house or if they leave then at the door. This is also a reminder to always wear clean socks!
